The Studio

Interior Perspective Studio.

Based in Nairobi since 2016, working across Kenya, from the city to upcountry and the coast, and with clients building from abroad. We design and deliver interiors for ground up homes, and we are taking on our first hospitality projects. Furniture, fixtures and finishes are sourced through our sister company, SORCD.

The Founder

Clara Sayo, Founder & Lead Creative.

Clara studied Information Technology and worked in IT support before training in interior design. She then worked across three sides of the industry: furniture production, design and build, and design consultancy. That mix of systems thinking and hands-on experience shapes how IPS works: structured, documented and accountable.

She founded Interior Perspective Studio in February 2016. At the time, much of the industry was focused on high end work, and she saw room for a studio serving homeowners in the middle of the market who wanted considered design. Over the years that followed, one pattern kept repeating. Interior decisions were being made too late in a build. One site survey in Nanyuki made the point. Conduits were blocked with concrete, and others ran from switches to lights through rooms they had no reason to cross. It was caught only because our electrical engineer surveyed alongside us. TVB™ exists so those decisions are made on paper, before anything is built.

Our philosophy

Each space is a considered act. Nothing extraneous. Nothing overlooked.

  1. 01

    Professionalism

Clear documentation, honest communication and respect for clients and collaborators. We say what things cost and do what we said.

  2. 02

    Efficiency

Structured systems keep projects moving. We solve problems early, while they are still cheap to solve.

  3. 03

    Creativity

We question the usual order of things. Designing the interior before the architect draws a wall began as a question, and became how we work.

  4. 04

    Quality

Intentional about detail, materials and execution. No shortcuts.
